Join us for Mass

When we receive Holy Communion, we experience something extraordinary – a joy, a fragrance, a well-being that thrills the whole body and causes it to exalt.
— Saint Jean Vianney

Our Story

Holy Cross Parish began as a mission of Our Lady of Solace, in 1943. The mission was founded by then pastor of the parish, Monsignor Edward P. Buttimer. A small house at 4112 East Genesee Street was purchased on October 30, 1942. It became home to the mission church and catechetical center. The first mass was said on Pentecost Sunday, June 13, 1943.

Faith Formation

Holy Cross offers a Faith Formation program for youth from first grade to twelfth grade. Our goals are to proclaim Christ’s message, to extend efforts to develop community, to lead children in worship and prayer, and to motivate students to serve others. Online registration is now open for the 2018-2019 Faith Formation year.

Sacraments are powers that comes forth from the Body of Christ, which is ever-living and life-giving. They are actions of the Holy Spirit at work in his Body, the Church. They are the masterworks of God in the new and everlasting covenant.
— CCC 1116
