Obituary
After years of courageously battling health issues, Dan passed on January 1st, his 75th birthday. He was born to Mary Bednarz Gaworecki and Adolph Gaworecki, Jr. on New Years Day 1948. Dan graduated from Baldwinsville High School and Oswego State University excelling in soccer. He taught Math at Jamesville-DeWitt High School for 34 years and was admired and respected by students and staff.
Dan lived life to the fullest with no regrets. He treasured memories of fly fishing in Montana and annual fishing trips with his family an friends. He shared his love of “oldies” music with family and friends by entertaining them yearly at “vinyl night”. He was a loyal SU sports fan and enjoyed attending and critiquing SU games with his brother, Steve. His love of photography was captured in his beautiful photographs.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy; his brothers, Stephen (Corky) and Dennis (JoAnn); nieces and nephews, Janice, Janson, Cory and Kyle; his mother-in-law, Jayne Williams; and his many cousins and close friends.
Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Eaton-Tubs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. The funeral Mass will be 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee St., DeWitt. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeWitt.
