Obituary
John J. Marchant, 86, of Fayetteville passed away unexpectedly on January 11, 2023. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada the son of the late Walter and Nora Marchant. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. John moved to the United States in 1977.
He was a communicant of Holy Cross Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. John enjoyed spending time and traveling with his family. He also enjoyed summers at the cottage in Fenelon Falls, Ontario, Canada.
He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Gail Marchant in 2021 and his sister, Vicky Bassett. He is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Lisa) Marchant, Susan (Todd) Cain and David (Renee) Marchant; grandchildren, Zachary Marchant, Joshua Cain, Sarah Marchant, Abigail Cain, Jack Marchant and Ryan Marchant; and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 9:30 to 11 am on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee St., DeWitt. The funeral Mass will follow the calling hours. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeWitt.
