Obituary

Kathleen Louise Byrnes, 81, of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Born in Syracuse, to the late John James and Berliene Marie (Boynton) Byrnes, she was also predeceased by her sister, Berliene Grosh in 2015, and brother, Norman Cross in 1978.

Kathleen was a participant at ARC of Onondaga, worked for Jubilee Homes and for many years in the day program at Menorah Park, DeWitt.

Surviving are her brothers, John J. Byrnes, James P. (Gloria) Byrnes and Michael P. (Katherine) Byrnes; nieces Elizabeth Byrnes, Jessica Morris, Lindsay Caruso, Emily Fengler and Jennifer Bittel and a large extended family.

Special thanks go to Tawnya Neu, Jackie Saddler, Pam Williams and all her direct care staff who helped her navigate life on a daily basis.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Cross Church, 4112 East Genesee St., DeWitt on Friday February 28 at 11 am. The family will greet friends from 10 am to 10:45 am at the church that day, prior to Mass. A private burial ceremony for family will follow Mass in Assumption Cemetery.
