Obituary
Luciano Banipal Bebla, age 24, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024. Luca was born June 18, 1999, in New York. He had a beautiful childhood and adolescence in DeWitt, New York.
Luca loved his pre-school and kindergarten experience at Montessori School. He never forgot his role in the Wizard of Oz in elementary school at Manlius Pebble Hill. Luca entered the Jamesville -Dewitt School system in fifth grade. He soared and excelled in this amazing and supportive environment. Luca was a 2017 graduate of Jamesville-Dewitt High School. He had numerous interests and talents throughout his school years and beyond. Luca played Cripple Creek on the violin like no other in second grade. He loved to play with his siblings as well as his elementary, middle, and high school orchestras. Luca was an avid reader and a natural writer. Luca loved to write and read fantasy novels and especially comic books.
He connected to nature and people in a unique way. Luca truly enjoyed his summers at Camp Iroquois where he was king of tether ball.
He attended church school at Holy Cross Church. He received his First Holy Communion and was Confirmed in this caring church community. Luca made lasting friendships and experienced great joy during Summer Servants and Young Life camps and activities.
He was born a fish and sped through swim lessons at the YMCA and Syracuse Chargers Swim Club. Luca cherished the awe inspiring as well as everyday moments in his spectacular swimming career. He had a tremendous love and respect for his coaches and teammates. Luca was captain of the Jamesville – Dewitt Men’s Varsity Swim Team and was honored to twice compete in NY state’s swim championship meet.
Luciano proudly graduated from University of California Davis in Davis, California with a communications degree. Luca had a great gift. He had an unconditional love for people, animals and nature. Luca’s beautiful smile and warm hugs made all who received them feel exceptionally loved and special.
Calling hours are Friday, April 12, 2024 from 3 to 9pm at the Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Road, Manlius. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 10am at Holy Cross Church, DeWitt.
