Join us for Mass

When we receive Holy Communion, we experience something extraordinary – a joy, a fragrance, a well-being that thrills the whole body and causes it to exalt.
— Saint Jean Vianney

Our Story

Holy Cross Parish began as a mission of Our Lady of Solace, in 1943. The mission was founded by then pastor of the parish, Monsignor Edward P. Buttimer. A small house at 4112 East Genesee Street was purchased on October 30, 1942. It became home to the mission church and catechetical center. The first mass was said on Pentecost Sunday, June 13, 1943.

Youth

Holy Cross offers a Faith Formation program for youth from first to twelfth grade, and Youth Ministry programs for middle & high school students. Using events that are relaxed and welcoming, including games, skits, talks, and small groups, Youth Ministry builds on the intellectual foundation received in Faith Formation to bring our youth to a personal encounter with the God who loves them profoundly.

Sacraments

Sacraments are powers that comes forth from the Body of Christ, which is ever-living and life-giving. They are actions of the Holy Spirit at work in his Body, the Church. They are the masterworks of God in the new and everlasting covenant.
