Confirmation

Series 2 - Lesson 4

Confirmation

Confirmation is the STRENGTHENING from the Holy Spirit that was given to us at Baptism. Confirmation does not come from “confirming” or “finally choosing” the faith, but comes from the Latin word “Confirmare” which means “to strengthen.” “Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds.” - CCC 1316 Watch the video to get more insights about this Sacrament of Initiation and how we often think of it in the wrong way.
