Rite of Candidacy
As he concludes his Pastoral Year at Holy Cross, our seminarian James Buttner will be celebrating the Rite of Admission to Candidacy. This is a special moment in his discernment and seminary formation when the Bishop receives him as a candidate for future ordination. James will express his intention to complete his formation and move toward ordination to the priesthood. Join us for this exciting occasion as part of the 4 PM Vigil Mass on Saturday, August 14th. Reception will follow where you will get a chance to congratulate and to wish James well as he returns to his studies.

Thank you James!
Here are just a few snapshots of James’ time with us. Thank you James for all the many ways you served and continue to serve our parish community. It’s been such a blessing. We are so thankful for you and encouraged by your goodness and faithfulness to the Lord. From playing games and engaging in shenanigans with our youth and students to leading online night prayer and holy hours, founding our Care for Creation group, thoughtfully overseeing registration and check-ins during Covid restrictions, and the many, many details you helped with behind the scenes, we are so thankful for your many gifts and know God will use them in incredible ways for His Kingdom. Know that our prayers are with you. We look forward to seeing where your journey leads, and you always have a home here at Holy Cross!
