Romans Study - Lent

Romans: The Gospel of Salvation

Paul’s letter to the Romans has been at the center of reflection, conversion, and controversy from the very beginning. Romans: The Gospel of Salvation provides an authentically Catholic way to understand this challenging epistle. Above all, it will help you enter into a more meaningful relationship with Christ. This Lent, David V. Hines will facilitate the final four sessions of this study. The sessions will run from 7:00-8:30 PM with a 25 minute video taught by the theologians Andrew Swafford, Ph.D of Benedictine College and Jeff Cavins. A discussion will follow. The dates for the study are Tuesdays: March 3, March 10, March 24 & March 31. Watch the trailer above to learn more.

If you would like to participate, please email David Hines here or call the Holy Cross office. Those who intend to participate in the Bible study are encouraged to order the workbooks for Romans. You can order from Ascension Press here.

We will have a review of Romans the first session, & then we will begin in Romans, chapters 7-8. Participants are encouraged to bring their own personal Catholic Bible to class and to begin to read Romans. All are welcome to attend, even if you were not in the study last fall.

Many Catholics fear Romans as a ‘Protestant’ Epistle of Paul, but in this lavishly illustrated and attractive study, Swafford and Cavins present Catholics with a study that is both profound yet accessible—based on the best contemporary scholarship and faithful to the Church’s tradition. I’ve seldom seen Catholic bible study materials this good
