Reflection

In Second Corinthians, Paul tells the reader that the love Christ has for us is transformative. This transformation should affect our mind as well as our heart. This may seem foreign because I find that we relegate our faith, or the love that God has for us, to our heart.

We can mistakenly believe we can only sense His love in our heart and not in our mind. Paul would argue that this interpretation is false. When we recognize that God’s love also affects our mind, we can no longer exclude others, or relegate those who we do not find palatable to the margins of society.

Paul calls us to think more like Christ thought. Unfortunately, many people find it challenging to believe that God loves all of his children equally.

While we may not accept everyone around us as God’s children and therefore disregard the teachings of Jesus. Paul challenges us to accept all people and to share what God has given us. When we share both our faith and material goods we are strengthened and transformed, however, may fear that sharing what they possess may weaken them.

We faced with that fear must remember that God is interested in our life, what we fear as well as the good and bad that happens to us. When we feel threatened or something causes us concern are we able to recall God is with us, and with all people.

The love of Christ impels us to greater trust and action therefore we are truly transformed!

Peace,
