Obituary
Henry Arnold Burhans, Jr., 87, of Syracuse, and more recently of Corrales, NM, passed away peacefully at home on July 8th 2022. He graduated from the Mercersburg Academy, Mercersburg, PA with the class of 1953. He attended Colgate University and then transferred to Syracuse University, where he received both his Bachelor’s Degree (’57) and his Master’s Degree in Social Work (’74). For nearly 20 years he worked at Hutchings Psychiatric Center in Syracuse. He also received an Honorable Discharge as Captain from the United States Air Force Reserve in 1966.
He was predeceased by his parents, Henry Arnold Burhans Sr. and Geraldine Frostholm Burhans.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Miriam; children, Henry A. Burhans, III (Audra), Laurie Spencer (Chip Carney); and grandson, Riley Patrick Burhans.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4 pm to 6 pm at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St, Fayetteville. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Monday at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee St, Syracuse. Burial will be in Fayetteville Cemetery.
