Obituary

Thomas Joseph Barth, son of Barbara Healy Barth of Willow Street, Pennsylvania and the late Howard C. Barth, Jr., died in Philadelphia on November 17th. He is survived by his children, Harry, Caroline, and Christopher. He is also survived by a brother, Ned (Kerstin) Barth of Hamburg, Germany, and two sisters, Suzanne (Lynn) McMannis of Freeville, New York, and Catherine Britt of Annapolis, Maryland as well as his aunt, Mrs. Martin Kelley of Syracuse, New York, an uncle, Daniel Healy of Naples, Florida, numerous cousins, a niece Lesley (Chuck) Ramsey, four nephews, Max and James Barth, and Duncan and Rory Britt, and his great-nephew, Hugh Ramsey.

Tom was born in Syracuse, NY and raised in Philadelphia. He graduated LaSalle College High School where he played tennis and was the hilarious editor of his class of ’80 yearbook. He attended Syracuse University for two years and graduated the University of Delaware in 1984. He founded and operated Penn Parking Service.

Tom was a voracious reader and had a large library. If you met him and were a “reader”, he very often gave you a book you “might enjoy”. Talented and witty, Tom kept daily journals and they are a part of his legacy. Tom supported Autism Speaks and his Catholic faith and was a good and loyal friend. He will be missed very much. May he rest in peace.
