Obituary
Addie Rae Courchaine Dole, age 103, died peacefully on February 3, 2023 at Penfield Place nursing home in Rochester, NY. She was a former resident of The Nottingham Retirement Community. Before moving to the Nottingham, she was a resident of Camillus, NY for 39 years. Her husband Dennis predeceased her in 2017.
She was born in Potsdam, NY and graduated from the Crane School of Music at Potsdam, receiving a B.M.E degree. She was also awarded an M.M.E degree from Syracuse University. She taught instrumental music in the Brushton, Moira, Carthage, and Syracuse school districts, and finally at Onondaga Central Schools.
She is survived by a son, Joseph (Kathleen) Dole of Pittsford, NY; a daughter, Anne Marie Dole, of Cortland, NY; a brother, Ralph Courchaine of Syracuse, NY; two grandsons, Harry and Sam Dole; and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church, Dewitt, NY on Monday, February 13 at 11 a.m. The Mass will be live streamed at https://www.holycrossdewitt.org/funerals/2023/addie-dole There will be no calling hours. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, DeWitt, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
