Obituary
Alan B. Haley, 77, of Nedrow, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 at the VA Medical Center.
Born August 17, 1945, in Rome, he was the son of the late Edwin and Martha Haley. He was a graduate of SAA High School in Rome, received his RN degree from Binghamton State Hospital, his Nurse Anesthetists degree from Wilford Hall Medical Center in the USAF, Bachelors of Nursing from Friends University and his Masters degree from Chapman College. He was a career United States Air Force officer for 20 years, retiring in 1992.
On August 8, 1969, in Friendsville, PA he married Mary W. Goddard. Alan was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church in DeWitt.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Amie (Harish) Daryanani, Melissa (Dane) Nannen, Kim (Jerrit) Giammichele and Allison (Randy) Rumble; ten grandchildren; Leigha, Ben, Riley, Landon, Chase, Maddy, Maizie, Kendall, Avery and Emmy; a brother, Ed (Cindy) Haley; two sisters, Nancy Kingery and Mary Lynn (Phil) Netzband; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 am at Holy Cross Church, DeWitt, with a calling hour from 10-11 am prior to the Mass. Calling hours will also be on Monday from 4-7 pm at Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel, 3690 Erie Blvd East, DeWitt. Entombment will follow the Mass at St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Cross Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
