Obituary
Catherine (Flanagan) Muller, age 86, previously of DeWitt, passed away with family at her side on Friday, February 14, 2023 at the Cottages at Garden Grove in Cicero where she had been residing. Catherine was born on November 14, 1936. Catherine met her husband, Harold Fredrick Muller while he was on leave from the US Air Force. They married on April 4,1959. They were married for 45 years until Harold’s passing on April 14, 2004.
Catherine was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (Gigi), aunt, sister and friend. Catherine leaves behind six children, Harold (Patricia), David, Keith (Susan), Deborah (Michael) Foley, James (Tina), and Barbara (Gary) Amato; 17 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Catherine also leaves behind three siblings, William Flanagan; and twin sisters, Barbara Jones and Patsy McHugh; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Knott; plus many nieces and nephews. Catherine was predeceased by both of her parents; her husband, Harold; and her older sister, Helen Shaughnessy.
Catherine was a member of Holy Cross Church since 1963. She volunteered for many activities over the years such as religious education, altar rosary society and a knitting group. Catherine retired from KeyBank.
Family activities were very important to Catherine. She enjoyed family dinners, camping trips and beach vacations.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 4-7 pm at Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel, 3690 Erie Blvd East, DeWitt. A Catholic Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 10 am at Holy Cross Church in DeWitt. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in DeWitt.
