Obituary

Carol Anne Schreyer Scullion of DeWitt, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 23, 2024 after a long illness. She was born October 24, 1945 in Syracuse, NY to the late Robert and Anne (Lisowski) Schreyer, also of Syracuse. She is survived by her husband of nearly 57 years, Donald F. Scullion; as well as her children, Patrick Scullion of DeWitt (wife, Quinn Kerrigan Scullion), Jeffrey Scullion of Bear Creek Village, PA (wife, Stacey Smith Scullion) and Jonathan Scullion of DeWitt. Survived also by six grandchildren, Madison, Brevin, Nate, Ellie, Donovan and Ian Scullion. Carol was deeply loved by her immediate family and extended family including many in-laws and nieces and nephews.

Carol was a graduate of the 1963 class of North High School in Syracuse, NY and was a member of the DeWittshire Community Club and Holy Cross Church in DeWitt, NY. Carol worked in the food service department of Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District for over 20 years.

More than anything in this world, Carol loved and devoted most of her life to her husband and three children. She loved to cook and bake and was known for being the house in the neighborhood to go to for homemade treats after school. She was also an avid Syracuse basketball fan, enjoying many years of season tickets and taking her boys to the dome to watch the Orangemen play. In her younger years, Carol enjoyed traveling, tending to her flower garden and volunteering for any organization or team that her boys were part of.

Carol will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

A public visitation will be held at Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel, 3690 Erie Blvd E, DeWitt, NY on Monday, July 1, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and her funeral Mass will be at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E Genesee Street, DeWitt, NY on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 11:00 am.
