John Michael MacDonough, 92, of Jamesville, passed away at home surrounded by family. John was born in 1932 in Bangor, ME. He was an Engineer at General Electric, designing Sonars and Radars for 34 years until his retirement in 1993.
John was an avid golfer, skier, painter, photographer, and pianist. He volunteered at FM Meals on Wheels for 25 years.was a communicant of Holy Cross Church for over 60 years.
John’s family always came first, especially his wife of 66 years, Lois. Together, they shared an active social life with many friends and were longtime members of the Pompey Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lois Liparulo MacDonough; children, Brenda Casinella, Diane Pluff (Dan), John MacDonough (Tricia) and Richard MacDonough (Amy); eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jane MacDonough.
The calling hour will be from 9-10 am on Monday, September 16th at Holy Cross Church, 4101 E. Genesee St., DeWitt. The funeral Mass will follow at 10 am. The burial with military honors will be at Jamesville-Walnut Grove Cemetery.
