Obituary

Nancy Marie Ferrara, 57, of Dewitt, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, with her loving family by her side. Nancy was born in Syracuse, daughter of Rocco C. and Eileen (McNeill) Ferrara. She graduated from Jamesville-Dewitt High School and attended SUNY Canton. Nancy worked for Wegmans as a coffee barista where she loved talking with customers and neighbors brightening everyone’s day that she met. Her hobbies included horseback riding, skiing, baking cakes, puzzles, and arts and crafts. Nancy enjoyed attending the many concerts, games, and graduations of her nieces and nephews. Nancy loved watching the New York Rangers.

She is predeceased by her mother, Eileen Ferrara.

Nancy is survived by her father, Rocco Ferrara; her fiancée, Mark Held; her siblings, Thomas Ferrara of Manlius, Steven (KarenAnn) Ferrara of Baldwinsville, and Colleen (Scott) Lance; her nephews, Alexander, Robert, Kegan and Christian; and her nieces, Kaitlyn, Rachel and Margo and godson, Joseph Hensel.

A special thank you to Cousin Bonnie Hensel and Krista Pembroke who cared for Nancy and filled her days with companionship, laughter and just enough mischief.

Mark Held was a very special part of Nancy’s life. Mark loved Nancy deeply and dearly.

And a word to the Jamesville DeWitt friends who supported Nancy throughout her illness with love, friendship and kindness, the family will be forever grateful for your grace, love and humanity.

A funeral Mass in celebration of Nancy’s life will be held in Holy Cross Church, Dewitt, on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. noon. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Dewitt.
