Obituary
Wilma L. Frydrychowicz, 87, of DeWitt, New York, died on September 4, 2024 following a brief illness.
Wilma graduated from Jamesville-DeWitt High School in 1955 as a member of their first graduating class and went on to attend Central City Business Institute (CCBI) to prepare for a long career as a legal secretary, during which she supported several attorneys. Wilma’s lifelong Catholic faith was seen in her dedication as a parishioner of Holy Cross Church and member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Wilma always looked forward to watching college basketball. She cheered for Syracuse University and traveled to many away games to support the basketball and football teams over the years. Wilma enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach.
Wilma is survived by her devoted husband, Frank J. Frydrychowicz (Fredericks); and her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Jennifer Frydrychowicz. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Hattala; and brother, John Stach. Wilma was loved and had close relationships with several cousins and nieces and nephews. Wilma’s thoughtfulness and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 9 at 12 noon at Holy Cross Church, DeWitt. Calling hours will be Monday from 10 am-12 pm at the church, prior to the Mass. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
