Prayer for Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
“Your word, O Lord, is a lamp for my feet.”
Readings & Reflection
What does the word trust mean? Put simply, it means to be able to put on confidence in someone or something to see it through. In today’s Gospel, Jesus prepares his disciples for going on a journey. As they go on this journey, they are told to bring only a walking stick and nothing else for the journey. No food or sac or even a second tunic. How would you feel if you were in this position? I know for myself being one to prepare myself properly, I would feel ill-equipped. We are called to trust in Christ and know that He will give us what we need as we continue in our spiritual journey. Do we trust in the Lord when He tells us that He will give us what we need in the proper time? Take some time to pray for the grace of trust in your life so that when the time comes for you to trust you will be able to have that grace.
