All Souls' Day

All Souls’ Day (also known as the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed) is a day of prayer and remembrance for those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith. The loss of a beloved family member or friend is never easy, yet Jesus teaches us that if we have lived our life close to God and have been a disciple of Christ, we have great hope in the resurrection of the just.

Holy Cross will celebrate a special Mass of Remembrance on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 4:00 PM Vigil Mass. All are welcome and invited to attend. During the Mass we will pray for each person in our community who has died since last All Souls’ Day. A family member of the deceased who has RSVP’d will be invited to come forth and place a lit votive candle in front of the altar. If your family commemorated a funeral for a loved one at Holy Cross in the past year, you should have received a letter inviting you to join in this special Mass. Please let us know you will be attending by RSVPing below or calling the parish office at (315) 446-0473.
