On Thursday evening, thirty-one candidates from Holy Cross Church will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation brings us the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit. The gifts of the Spirit are Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Wonder and Awe. We pray that our Confirmation candidates allow these gifts to flourish within them, so that when the trials of life come their way, as they do for all people, they will be able to recognize that God is active in their life. Once the gifts of the Spirit are welcomed into our being we begin to recognize the Fruits of the Spirit, and we experience the joy and peace that comes from walking with our God. Please pray for our candidates as they prepare to receive this strengthening from the Holy Spirit.
